He has now focused all of his efforts on recruiting Aoshi Shinomori to join him. Aoshi Shinomori is a dictator and cryptic assassin who was once the head of the famous Oniwaban group of warriors.
The series follows Kenshin as he journeys through a government-abandoned village and tries to keep the nation from descending into civil war by staying in the area where Shishio’s goons have taken over. In resistance to Shishio, he aligns with Hajime Saito, his previous opponent in order to keep the Shishio Empire from going to war. The outcome of all these attempts will determine Japan’s destiny.
